Crew Awards

		Medal of Honour Presented by the President of the Federation, it is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a Federation citizen or member of Starfleet. The Medal of Honour is awarded to one who distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing force; or while serving with friendly forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet is not a belligerent party. The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his/her comrades and must have involved the risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted and each recommendation for the award of this decoration will be considered on the standard of extraordinary merit. The United Federation of Planets Medal of Honour is the only decoration worn around the neck and is typically the only medal worn with the dress white uniform.		Details
		Legion of Honour Awarded by the Fleet Commander or the Admiralty Staff of the fleet to officers or enlisted who perform exceptionally meritorious service and have a degree of great responsibility.		Details
		Medal of Valour Awarded to any member of Starfleet who, while serving in any capacity distinguishes themselves by gallantry in action against an enemy of the United Federation of Planets; or while serving with friendly forces against an opposing armed enemy force.		Details
		Star Cross Awarded by the Fleet Commanding Officer or a member of the Fleet Admiralty to officers and enlisted personnel of Starfleet who distinguish themselves by extraordinary heroism or exceptional service, not justifying the award of the Medal of Honour. While originally awarded for combat heroism, it may also recognize service and sacrifice in exploratory, scientific, or medical fields while under the threat of great danger.		Details
		Preantares Award for Conspicuous Gallantry, 1st Class The Preantares Award for Gallantry is awarded to members of Starfleet who distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or gallant service that involves the saving of a life or lives. It is the highest award a Commanding Officer can recommend or issue.		Details
		Preantares Award for Conspicuous Gallantry, 2nd Class A lesser version of the Preantares Award for Conspicuous Gallantry First Class, this decoration is awarded to members of Starfleet who distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or gallant service yet it does not involve the saving of a life or lives. 		Purple Heart Awarded for combat action only, and is awarded to persons severely wounded in action while serving in Starfleet. It is also awarded posthumously to the next of kin of personnel killed in action, or who died of wounds received in action. For the purposes of this award, severe wounds are defined as wounds that kill (even if the crewmember is ultimately revived) or wounds that cause some degree of lifelong consequences not repairable by Federation medical science. 		Silver Palm This is awarded to Starfleet personnel who distinguish themselves by heroic or meritorious achievement in the performance of assigned duties against an opposing enemy force. It is a combat-only award.		Details
		Kragite Order of Heroism Awarded to officers (Lieutenant Commander and below) and enlisted personnel serving in Starfleet who distinguish themselves by outstanding heroism. It is awarded for both combat and non-combat service.		Details
		Grankite Order of Tactics with Distinction Awarded by Starfleet Command for a superior display of tactical knowledge while in a position of significant responsibility. This award can apply to ground combat as well as space combat.		Details

		First Contact Award Awarded to individuals and/or starship crews that have engaged in peaceful relations with a species not previously encountered. The species in question must be warp-capable and the contact must not be in violation of the Prime Directive. Normally, the First Contact Award only considers encounters that are peaceable from the outset but does occasionally recognize contacts that begin hostile but end peacefully.		Details
		Merit Award for Diplomacy Commends an individual who has set a personal example to foster peace, cooperation, and mutual respect between divergent races.		Details
		Distinguished Service Medal The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to any Starfleet officer (Department Head and above) who distinguishes him or herself and shows exceptional skill, valor, heroism or extraordinary achievement in the course of their duties.		Details
		Distinguished Flying Medal The Distinguished Flying Medal is awarded to any Starfleet pilot who shows exceptional skill, valor, heroism or extraordinary achievement while engaged in flight operations.		Details
		Meritorious Departmental Commendation The Meritorious Departmental Commendation is awarded by the Commanding Officer to a department that performed in an exemplary and outstanding manner during a combat situation or away mission.		Details
		Department Head Commendation The Department Head Commendation is awarded in concurrence with either the Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 Departmental Commendations, and as such mirrors the criteria of the award selected.		Details
		Departmental Commendation, First Class The Departmental Commendation considers performance above the qualifications listed in the Third and Second Class Commendations. It is awarded based on Outstanding Service in the Line of Duty, Excellence, Advanced Tactical Training, Conspicuous Bravery and/or Gallantry, Exemplary Service, Skill, and Ability. 		Departmental Commendation, Second Class The Departmental Commendation Third Class is given to a department that considers Meritorious Bravery, Valour, Attention to Duty, Ingenuity, Distinguished Service, Loyalty and Original thinking as well creativity and dedication by officers of that department by performance above and beyond that of the Third Class Commendation. 		Citation The Commendation for Distinguished Service is awarded by the Commanding Officer for acts of heroism and competence above the requirements for the Commendation for Meritorious Service.
